MAC Address Vendor Lookup

The first half of a MAC address (the OUI) identifies the company that manufactured the network adapter. Use this to identify unknown devices on your Wi-Fi.

Tool status: Uses an external service Relies on a third-party API that may be rate-limited or temporarily unavailable.

What this tool can and cannot do

Uses the free public IEEE manufacturer list (MA-L/OUI), which our server downloads and searches locally – your MAC address is never sent to a third party. Newer, smaller (MA-M/MA-S) assignments may not be included. Phones and computers often use randomised "private" MAC addresses for privacy; these have no vendor and are detected automatically.

Understanding the results

If the second character of the MAC is 2, 6, A or E, it is a locally administered (randomised) address and cannot be traced to a manufacturer.

Troubleshooting

  • Use any common format: 00:1A:2B:3C:4D:5E, 00-1A-2B-3C-4D-5E or 001A.2B3C.4D5E.
